beelines, inscriptions, & the like |
A blog about the frenzied events and happenings that people (including myself) make a beeline for--book signings, concerts, premieres, etc.--and the resulting loot and goodies--book inscriptions, autographed CDs, material loot, photographic proof of such happenings, etc.--that result from such madness. I find such excitement in such things, and I'm sure you do too (if not, you should)! |
I’ve been reading Gary Vaynerchuk’s new book, Crush It!, and I figured starting a fresh Tumblog, a tabula rasa—as much meaning as that carries through the social media place—would help me share with the world about one of my greatest passions: what beelines, inscriptions, and like-kind happenstances mean to me and the people who participate in the madness with me.
I’m just going to put it out there—I’m a fanatic of all odd sorts. I know what I love, but when I want to encounter, face-to-face, the source from which these things that I love originate, a certifiable madness surges in me like a super-mutated adrenaline that leads me to, by Machiavellian means, to “meet and greet” this source—whether it be a writer, a musician, an artist, a performer, a handbag, a film, a book, an art piece.
I know this “pilot” post may seem confusing now, but wait for my subsequent posts, and you’ll know what I’m talking about. You’ll realize you’re a victim of this insanity, this madness—whether it be for a similar interest or one that’s mutually exclusive; the underlying rush behind it all is ALWAYS the same.
So please enjoy these seemingly odd-to-you-but-joyfully-overwhelming adventures in this humble life of mine—one that’s filled with an enormous amount of book signings, intimate venue concerts, post-Broadway show crowds, lectures, opening night films, media releases, fashion premieres, art exhibitions, and the like.
